Rocky Point 2009

We made our annual trek down to Rocky Point, Mexico again this year. Our kids look forward to this trip more than anything, and then they talk about it for the whole year. There's just something about hanging out on the beach, relaxing at a nice resort pool, and watching your kids have a blast with all their friends that actually makes this one of my favorite "family" trips we take each year.

Cassidy showing everyone in the resort what she thinks about Mexico

Carter soaking up some rays...just waiting for the "chicas" to come flirt with him

A bunch of the kids partying in the hot-tub on our balcony

This year we were excited to be able to go with Ryan & Ariane and their kids (Kimberly's sister). We had a blast with them. But since they're from Washington, where they never see the sun, Ryan apparently had not been informed that you have to put sunscreen on the top of your feet as well. We all had a pretty good laugh over this one. Don't feel guilty laughing...he said it looked worse than it felt. :-)

Playing games with the kids in one of the pools - I just thought this was a cool pic of Dave & Ella.

That's my boy - showin' off those GUNS. That's how we roll.

We had great friends come along this year as well. We had some good laughs together...combined with many moments where we helped each other resist the temptation to strangle our own children. :-)

Great times...already thinking about next year.

Swim Team

When you live in AZ, there are only a handful of activities you would even consider doing outside in the summer time. One of those is chillin' by the pool, and AZ kids start swimming before they can walk. Our kids all enjoy it as well.

This year, the did swim team again. They have a couple of hours of practice every day, and swim meets once a week. It's a really well run program, and it gives them a chance to get out of the house, and hang out with friends, while getting a little exercise at the same time.

Carter and mom are the real "troopers" here...sitting outside in 100+ degree temps for 2 hrs to support the girls

Cassidy is actually a very strong swimmer - she gets it from her mom. The only stroke I know is the "breast-stroke" - which I try to practice as frequently as Kimberly will allow. :-)

Like father, like son

After 10 years of playing with stupid girl crap, including, but not limited to, Barbies, Webkinz, Polly Pockets, Little Miss Pet Shop, and the ever popular Princess dress-up. For those of you wondering, yes, I have a Cinderella dress that does wonders for my figure. I also have a sultry Princess Jasmine outfit, but I only wear that one (or occasionally my Princess Ariel outfit) on those nights that I really want to get Mommy's motor going......OK, I lost my train of thought - where was I? Oh yea, anyway, after years of playing with everything that makes little girls happy, I am excited to usher in the era of "cool BOY stuff"! That's right, basketball, soccer, football, guns, slingshots, bikes, cars, etc. Bring it on!

Kimberly snapped a picture of Carter, and it reminded me of one my mother took of me "many moons ago". Like father, like son.
